Task – develop a model for the "Network of Networks"
with stakeholder engagement
"A credible, democratic and accountable voice for all young people and supporting them to participate positively and effectively in society" (Priorities for Youth)

2. THE CONTEXT
Current opportunities for young people to make their voice heard including:
- local youth groups
- regional voluntary youth organisations
- Education Authority initiatives (eg. Local Advisory groups)
- groupings at local Council level
- regional youth led organisations (eg. NIYF)
- national and European levels

3. WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE WANT - Meaningful engagement - A youth-led approach
- A youth work approach to underpin the Network
- A Network open to all young people, including individuals
- Opportunities for face-to face meetings
- A link with the Small Grants programme
- A brand image designed by young people

4. WHAT DECISION MAKERS NEED
Accurate timely information on the needs of young people and the issues affecting their lives
Mechanisms to reach young people and glean their views
Local structures that will engage young people in influencing planning processes and decision-making
- Regional structures to engage with bodies such as the RAG

5. WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE Key elements are likely to include:
a web-based information sharing site
on-line consultations on identified issues
opportunities for face-to-face engagement at all levels, including with decision-makers
support mechanisms to facilitate the "networking"
- guidance provided to participating networks
