Urban Prep is Chicago’s only public all-male, all-African-American high school. The school has a big goal: helping every one of its students get accepted into college. To some, the school’s mission seems bold. Urban Prep’s students come from some of the poorest neighborhoods in the city. Many of the students grew up around gangs.
