1 Christ & The Christian Philippians 3:7-8

2 What Christ do for you?

3 Christ can save you from sin
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

4 Christ can save you from sin
He can save one from the guilt of sin. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

5 Christ can save you from sin
He can save one from the condemnation of sin There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

6 Christ can save you from sin
He can save one from the control of sin 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2

7 Christ can give you abundant life
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

8 Christ can give you abundant life
Christ can lead you to the Father Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

9 What Christ Can Do In You

10 He can inspire the heart with hope
To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

11 He can inspire the heart with hope
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20

12 He can inspire the heart with hope
through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2

13 He can enable one to face the problems of life
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

14 He can enable one to face the problems of life
16 At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 2 Timothy 4:16-17

15 He gives peace to the heart
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:15

16 He grants power to help His people
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Ephesians 3:20

17 He grants power to help His people
15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16

18 He grants power to help His people
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. Ephesians 5:11-12

19 What Christ Can Do With You

20 He can make a “Fisher of men” of you
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

21 He can make: 1. Better fathers and husbands (Eph 5:25; 6:1; Col 3:21) 2. Better mothers and wives (Eph 5:23; Titus 2:2-6; Col 3:18) 3. Better sons and daughters (Eph 6:1-2; Col 3:20)

22 Lessons for us today

23 Benefits Only with Christ
1. Only Christ offers the things we have discussed today. 2. The things that mankind offers are only temporary in nature and they are not adequate for facing the trials of life.

24 Only Christ makes us acceptable to God.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

25 Only Christ makes us acceptable to God.
22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— Colossians 1:19-22

26 Conclusion One must pay the price of being a Christian 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

27 Conclusion 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:24-26

28 Conclusion One must pay the price of being a Christian
If you choose not to be a Christian the price is MUCH higher.
