We recognize the connection between the blood of Christ and the forgiveness of our sins 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Romans 5:9 By His blood we are given right standing To be justified is to be made right not that we have no sin but that we who have sin are freed from its hold and stand pure before God Rom 4:6-8 – David was a man who knew both sin and forgiveness It is in the blood of Christ and the justification that it provides that we see the grace of God We have nothing to offer to in any way provide right standing, it was only in Jesus sacrifice that justification could be found

Ephesians 2:13 The result of being justified is being in fellowship with God Eph 2:13-22 – Through His blood we have peace with the God we have sinned against and we can find peace with our fellow man Vs No longer is there one law for the Jew and another for the Gentile there is now equity between the two Vs – This fellowship creates a relationship wherein we have access to the Father and become a dwelling place of the Spirit

This tense refers to an action which takes place at a specific point in time and has an ongoing effect The man of the passage was sanctified, set apart to God at a specific point in time He was justified at a specific point in time Washed – middle voice indicates the subject is acting on themselves – to wash oneself Sanctified and justified are passive indicating the subject is being acted upon At the point at which one washes himself, baptism, God sanctifies and Justified Williams – You have washed yourselves clean, you have been consecrated, you are now in right standing with God
