Equipment designed for communication and the interception of communication became essential during World War II. The Allied and Axis nations relied on different forms of communication technology to send encrypted messages and break into their enemy’s messages.

11 1945 was an important year because it marked the end of World War II and the emergence of new relationships between the remaining world powers: the United States and the USSR. Prior to the official end of World War II, the Allies (United States, USSR, and Britain) hosted two conferences: Yalta in February 1945 and Potsdam in July These conferences were designed to help decide what would happen to Europe, specifically, Germany, at the end of World War II. In between the conferences, delegates from 50 nations meet in San Francisco for the United Nations (UN) in April of The United Nations, much like the original intent of the League of Nations, was created to maintain international peace and security. By May 1945, Germany surrendered to the Allies.

15 Road to the Cold War The relationship between the USA and USSR (Russia after 1991) breaks down because the USA and Great Britain fear that the USSR wants to much reparations ($$$) from Germany and the USA was concerned this could cause Germany to wage war similar to after the Treaty of Versailles.
