2 Welcome to the Rogers Middle School Band Program!!
Thank you for coming to the meeting tonight and taking time out of your evening to visit with the staff and myself Purpose of our meeting tonight We are so blessed to be able to teach your kids…thank you !  Rogers Band is made up of 6th grade students Beginner Band – over 170 kids in the Beginning Band Classes!!! Your Rogers Middle School Directors Chris Bennett, Heather Massey, and Blake Lein– RMS/BMJH Robert Fish – Dawson High School Adam Brinkman & Evan Whithner – PISD Private Lesson Teachers Collaboration Between RMS/BMJH/DHS 6-12 Band curriculum Each year layers on new information and skills to prepare for the next year’s band class Dawson High School Band Staff: Aaron Brown, Nathan Coronado, Robert Fish, Rasheed Akande

Beginning Instruction at Rogers MS Continue 7th & 8th grade at Berry Miller Junior High School Culminate at Dawson High School LOTS OF SCHOLARSHIP MONEY AWARDED AND TOP GRADUATING SENIORS IN THE DAWSON HIGH SCHOOL BAND!! We encourage your students to go to Berry Miller and Dawson High School Band events. WE WILL GIVE EXTRA CREDIT!!

Instrument Classes throughout the school day divided by Teams. Periods 1 – 4 Clarinet/Trumpet/Euphonium/Tuba (1st) Flute/Oboe/Clarinet/Bassoon/Saxophone/Trombone/Percussion (2nd) Trumpet/French Horn/Euphonium/Tuba (3rd) Flute/Trombone (4th) “Like” instrument classes Concerts, Contests, Trips Conference Period 11:00 am – 11:45 am (Mr. Bennett) 11:50 am – 12:35 pm (Mrs. Massey & Mr. Lein)

9 Rogers Middle School Fundraising Opportunity
Purpose of Fundraising Raise funds for: Master Class / Clinician Expenses Supplementing the cost of travel and trips Supplement the funds provided by PISD Instruments Meals or snacks at various venues Rogers Band Proposed Budget: $9,000 for the year! Ways we raise funding: Fundraising Rock-A-Thon Fundraiser Friday, December 7th! GOAL = $7,000

12 CHARMS Office Assistant
Online database and communication tool Calendar, forms, uniform information Each student has an individual account Follow instructions on handout, fill out your students personal information This should have been completed by September 1st. School Code: RogersMillerBand ID# is your students PISD ID# that is used for checking books out of the library. Your student’s ID is also the password. Once you’ve updated your student’s account, YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD. All need to be updated by NEXT Friday!! – Daily Grade! If you registered and are new to Rogers, we will need to add you manually, please me so I can add your student.

13 SKYWARD & RevTrack Band Fee $20 fee Paid online via SKYWARD.
Pearland ISD School Owned Instrument Fee Only PISD school owned instruments pay Paid online via WebStore. Two Installments: $50 per semester (no summer fee ) You only need to pay the Fall installment, but may pay both if you wish. Percussion pays only the Spring Fee in 6th Grade. Costs You will find that we have the costs of our trips to be paid on WebStore, Pearland ISD is asking us to handle our finances this way when possible. We strive to give you all up to date information! The calendar online on the director’s websites will always be the most up to date. Please link your smart devices to the online google calendar.

20 Private Lessons Please see us with questions.
Pearland ISD offers private music lessons with well-qualified lesson staff on every instrument. Lessons are for EVERYONE! It’s a great way to enrich what we are doing in class or get a little extra help. Lessons are required by Pearland ISD for instruments that are “school-owned.” This includes: Oboe Bassoon French Horn Euphonium Tuba Please see us with questions. Lessons will begin in about 2 – 3 weeks depending on the instrument.

21 Instrument Loan Contract
Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Euphonium, & Tuba students see Mr. Lein to fill out paperwork. All instruments listed above will have both a fall and spring semester $50 fee applied to their student’s WebStore account. Percussion students will only have the spring semester ($50) fee.

22 Turn in forms Please turn in all of your forms tonight. There are boxes on the back table with the different forms in them. You should take home the CHARMS login instructions for future reference Please see me if you are interested in donating to the band program. The band directors are here to help collect your forms and answer questions!
