1 Migrant Education Program (MEP) Updates
ESC Region 11

2 Student Data Coding Migrant Students:
Students must not be coded in any Student Information System unless the PEIMS Coordinator or Migrant contact: Has received a copy of a new COE, or Uses the Unique Student Count Report to code the currently list of migratory students. List of students can change from month to month. Recruiting happens all year round. From time to time the ESC Region 11 MEP will request student data from you. See calendar handout for some dates. Please see calendar handout for monthly MEP monitoring, which assists to meet the requirements of the new Service Delivery Plan for Texas MEP. Except for monthly monitoring, please wait on our directive to report these data.

3 Occupational Surveys Decrease in migratory students across the county, state, and region in the last several years. The ESC Region 11 MEP is requesting all Occupational Surveys from districts. The Occupational Survey is not documentation of eligibility for Title 1, Part C Migrant Education Program. ESC Region 11 MEP recruiters will interview each potentially eligible family to determine eligibility and inquire about participation in the program.

4 Parent Advisory Council – December 1, 2018
Participating parents and students are invited to attend a Health Fair on December 1, 2018. Health Care Plan providers through Medicaid will be represented. Parent presentation, student activities, and training in math and graduation resources will take place. Please encourage your families to participate.
