We only focus on the short sounds in Kindergarten. C and G are yellow. They make a hard and a soft sound. The remaining consonants are green. They make one sound.

14 Report Card Standards based Parent/Teacher Conferences
District-wide Conference Day – Monday, November 5th, 2018 Please sign up today. Other conferences can be made by appointment.

15 What is a standards-based progress report?
A report that shows a student’s progress toward learning goals that are aligned with Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. Communicates more precise information regarding students’ current knowledge and skills to parents and other teachers .

16 What is the difference? Letter grades do not tell parents which skills their children have mastered or whether they are working at grade level. A Standards-Based Progress Report gives parents a better understanding of their child’s strengths and weaknesses and encourage all students to do their best.

17 What is the Assessment Scale?
+ Has Met the Standard / Working Towards the Standard # Limited progress Towards the Standard - Lacks progress Toward Standard

18 What should I expect as a parent?
Learning is a process that develops and strengthens over time At the beginning of the year, it is common to see more # and / marks because the skills are being introduced. By the end of the year, students should be receiving more + marks to show they have mastered skills and are target for their grade level.
