Consent order from NOV (ABRRO000929) from June 5, 2018 – discussed at the last meeting
Issue: 30-day rolling average NOx emissions exceedances
Boilers #2, #5 and #6 in 4th Quarter of 2017
Boiler #3, #5 and #6 in 1st quarter of 2018
Resolution:
Boiler #2 – Physical alterations to the burner ring were completed
Boiler #3 – Replaced a malfunctioning valve
Boilers #5 and #6 – Consequence of commissioning activities, which are complete
Terminated (Closed)
Boiler #2 -
Implement recommendations per subcontractor boiling tuning expert to drill additional 1/8” holes around the periphery of the burner ring.
Multiple flameouts in September 2018
One day from last September that had an exceedance of 30-day rolling average.
October 1 after making repairs, took to October 31, 30-day rolling average was below.

Commander’s Environmental Stewardship Challenge
With specific challenge to:
Immediately reduce lead from the open burn ground
Began sawing MK-90 grains
Reducing waste treated at open burn ground by 50%; New EWI treat 95% of current waste
Received permit modification to saw other grains
Reduce waste, water, and power consumption as low as reasonably achievable
Water use reduction
River water intake variable drive
Reduce by 1 billion gal/yr
Reduce the amount of nitrates released into the New River
New nitrocellulose plant
ISO 14001
Completed Surveillance Audit in October
Have made substantial reductions in immediately reportable events
ISO 50001
Will commence energy assessments of the compressed air and steam distribution
Permit mod to saw other grains received on August 24, 2018
