Course Code – ARMA 2D or ARMA 2P Bundles together (2 credits – half day course) AVI 2O – Grade 10 Visual Arts MPM 2D OR MFM 2P – Grade 10 Academic Math or Grade 10 Applied Math Grade 9 Art is NOT a prerequisite Having been enrolled in the Grade 9 Art of Math bundle is NOT a prerequisite

4 2D English & 2D Canadian History Bundle
Course Code – 2DENHI Bundles together (2 credits – half day course) CHC2D – Academic Canadian History ENG2D – Grade 10 Academic English Study Canada’s history through novels, poetry, plays, music, photography, television, film, media, fashion, food, and sport. A bundled course means... overlapping lessons and projects covering English and history.

18 important Note to Pre-Ib students!!!!!
In addition to the six compulsory credits listed in the previous slide, you are responsible to ensure you have earned compulsory credits in the Arts and Phys. Ed. by the end of your grade 10 year.

19 Core enrichment classes
In grade 10, students have the choice to continue in the following enrichment classes: ENG2DE, MPM2DE, SNC2DE, CHC2DE. You can select 1, 2, 3, or all 4 of the enriched courses offered. Students who have achieved high academic success and have not taken enriched courses in grade 9 ARE ELIGIBLE to register in enriched classes! Students will earn an academic level credit, enrichment activities are added to enhance the learning experience.

20 Curriculum compacting
Allows a grade 10 student to accelerate through selected courses, in 6-9 weeks. This is done both on-site and on-line. Application process must be complete in order to be considered. For more information contact Ms. Basso in Learning Services. WHY COMPACT? Designed for students who would like more room for course selection and different programming opportunities such as Advanced Placement, WISE, or SAT.

24 Plan Ahead When selecting optional courses for grade 10, make sure to consider the prerequisites for grade 11 courses you might be interested in taking. For example, if you would like to take Grade 11 University Biology (SBI3U1), you must take Grade 10 Academic Science (SNC2D1)

Course Selections: 9 courses – Civics and Careers on two separate lines, count for 1 credit Alternates: 2 courses – why is this important? There are no guarantees of your elective courses being available Music Repertoire Selections: BAND AMR2OC CHOIR AMR2OW

29 Next Steps Summer School and myBlueprint:
If you plan on taking a summer school course DO NOT register for this course in myBlueprint. In the “Student Comment” section of the registration/confirmation page in myBlueprint, let your counsellor know what course you will register for in summer school. If you are not sure about summer school, register for the course at Oakridge for next year.
