When we are dealing with products that come from a najas source: We have to find out if a chemical change has occurred.

4. Most Common Example: Gelatin
Which gelatins are halal?
Fish Gelatin (usually what Kosher gelatin but you HAVE to make sure)
Vegetable gelatin
Chemically manufactured gelatins

5. Most Common Example: Gelatin
In North America, majority gelatin comes from cows or pigs. A chemical change does not occur when it is made into gelatin.
