Better integration of the ESS statistical business processes with the effect of reducing resources within the ESS and at national level:
better use and accessibility of technical and statistical ESS standards such as SDMX, metadata standards, ESS dissemination standards, data validation standards etc.

processes are improved and integrated: (data dissemination, data exchange, data validation…); existing ESS processes would be more harmonised and in some cases shortened
improvement in international data/metadata exchange e.g. Member States provide data/metadata once to the ESS which then serves as hub for other international organisations

10. Based on ongoing work: (1) VIP-EDC
Ongoing work to lay the foundations for an ESS data warehouse at the reference-dissemination level, including:
implementation of widgets: a practical case for facilitating dissemination of ESS information via dissemination environments of NSIs
implementation of dissemination web services for European statistics from Eurostat
definition of requirements and feasibility studies relevant for the re-engineering of the Eurostat dissemination chain towards shared ESS dissemination
enabling users to have a unified view of information available from the ESS
