4 Board of Trustees The Board of Trustees is established as the governing body of the State University of New York pursuant to Section 353 of the Education Law of the State of New York. Additional sections of the Education Law, the Executive Law, and the Civil Service Law describe or affect the Board makeup, the Board's planning functions and its administrative and fiscal functions.
