7 Proposed Ordinance Standards
Buffer Yard Type 5 Design Elements, Route 7 Segment: 100 feet in width, measured from right-of-way Required plants per 100 linear feet of frontage: 4 canopy trees 2 understory trees 50 shrubs 2 evergreen trees 50% comprised of native plant species 75% of understory trees and shrubs consist of species that produce flowers at some point in the growing season

8 300’ Segment – 150’ PRL

9 Issues for Consideration
Impact of proposed increase of parking setback from 100 feet to 150 feet. Limits site area available for surface parking, may constrain commercial development potential Requires larger parking setback than is applicable to other major arterial corridors Creates nonconformities for existing development To balance desire for additional open space along corridor with site development needs, parking setback of 125 feet may be appropriate alternative.

10 300’ Segment – 125’ PRL
