3 City of Rehoboth Beach Managing Impacts of Current Development Trends on Residential Neighborhoods: Issues and Possible Solutions Pool Ordinance - Revisions Chapter 206 Pools 206-2 Definitions – Revised definition for Qualified Pool Operator – Revised to Swimming Pool, Rental (Rental Pool) 206-7 Pool Operation License – Added “…Additional inspections may be required should changes to the pool, pool equipment, or site be proposed and/or a permit be applied for.” 206-8 Safety of Bathers, Safety Requirements – Reorganized to make A. Safety of Bathers and B. Safety Requirements – Added B(3) Identifying property’s 911 address

4 City of Rehoboth Beach Managing Impacts of Current Development Trends on Residential Neighborhoods: Issues and Possible Solutions Pool Ordinance - Revisions Chapter 206 Pools Section 3 – Added date for specified sections to become effective: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by a majority vote of the Commissioners of the City of Rehoboth Beach, excepting for existing pools Sections 206-6 (Rental Pool Operation and Maintenance), 206-7 (Pool Operation License), and 206-8(B) and (C) (Safety Requirements), which shall be effective July 1, 2016.

6 City of Rehoboth Beach Managing Impacts of Current Development Trends on Residential Neighborhoods: Issues and Possible Solutions Zoning Ordinance - Recommendations 270-4 Definitions Added to Natural Area Definition “…No part of the required off-street parking shall be considered as natural area.” 270-21 Lot Coverage Retitled the section 270-21 Natural Area, Floor Area Ratio and Lot Coverage Reorganized entire section and made Natural Area, Floor Area Ratio and Lot Coverage separate subsections Added under A(2) “No part of the required off-street parking shall be considered as natural area.” Revised language in B(1), B(2) and B(4) Lot Coverage tables for residential, commercial and ER districts moved and reformatted to include Maximum Floor Area Ratio and Minimum Natural Area (percent)

IV Off-Street Parking, Loading and Unloading, 270-35 Minimum Parking Spaces Required; Exceptions – 2 Options for D(1): Option 1: 2 per residential unit having up to 3 bathrooms; A bathroom consisting of 1 toilet and 1 fixture shall be considered 0.50 bathroom; A bathroom consisting of 1 toilet and 2 or more fixtures shall be considered 1.0 bathroom; Half bathrooms are not rounded up; 1 additional space shall be required for each additional bathroom Option 2: 2 per 4 toilets plus 1 additional space per additional toilet – Revised E: Any required off-street parking space, regardless of surfacing material, shall count as natural area.
