4 What is a Negotiation Competition?
Two teams of two students… … act as representatives of two clients… … to complete a transaction, negotiate a contract, resolve a dispute… … judged by legal practicioners and other professionals.

5 ELSA Negotiation Competition
Founded upon the International Negotiation Competition rules Local and National rounds throughout entire ELSA Network ENC Package online with rules, scoresheets, presentations, etc ENC Coaching System to support each National Group

6 Handing out the cases to the participants and preparation
In Practice Step 1 Handing out the cases to the participants and preparation (at least 3 days prior to the negotiation) Confidential Facts for each team Common Facts

7 Pre-Negotiation Period
In Practice Step 2 Pre-Negotiation Period (5 minutes per team) Self Introduction by Particpants Presentation of the tactics and aims during the negotiation

8 In Practice Step 3 Negotiation Period (up to 60 minutes)
Finding out the scope of possible agreement Reaching an agreement (or at least, common ground)

9 Pre-Self-Reflection Period
In Practice Step 4 Pre-Self-Reflection Period (5 minutes) Private moment for teams to recapitulate their outcome in order to prepare their self-reflection period

10 Self-Reflection Period
In Practice Step 5 Self-Reflection Period (15 minutes) Self-evaluation by the participants of their performance

11 In Practice Step 6 Feedback by Judges (up to 10 minutes per team)
Both teams receive feedback from the judges

If yes; who has used them; when was it used and what for? Do they have any cases in their archive? Are they (former) EI Cases? If not, can EI use them (perhaps translated)? Do they have interest in providing cases? Via partners, externals
