1 Activity – Part 1: Beginnings
You will be divided into 6 groups On to your sugar paper you are to brain storm your ideas on your given area in your colour pen Group 1+ 4: Oil – What do we need it, what is it used for, where does it come from.. Group 2 + 5: Environmental Impact – what problems are associated with drilling and burning… Group 3 + 6: Alternatives to oil – what else could we use, advantages You have 5 mins This activity is to assess what the students already know about the 3 key areas. Divide the class into 6 groups, allocate a topic each, the group then writes this in the middle of their piece of sugar paper and add the information to it. This can be written or as diagrams. I usually make sure that each group has it’s own colour pen so that it is clear to see which groups added what to the poster. SJW 2010

2 Activity – Part 2: Add on You will receive another groups poster
You now have 3 mins to read through their brain storm and add any extra information that you can think of in your group in your colour pen Repeat this again with the final poster, you have 2 mins The posters are then moved around so that each group gets a turn at the other topics and to read the information that the class knows. These can then be displayed in your classroom throughout the next 4 lessons to remind them of what they know. SJW 2010
