Data were from cancer registries that participated in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results 9 to calculate age-adjusted (using the 2000 US standard population) incidence rates per 100,000 person-years of primary invasive esophageal adenocarcinoma (primary side codes, C15.0–C15.9; histologic codes, M8140–M8573) for the period 1983 to 2012 (using three 10-year calendar periods: 1983–1992, 1993–2002, and 2003–2012).16
