1 Social Studies One Pager (Pre-AP)
EXAMPLE Social Studies One Pager (Pre-AP) All work is done on only one side of the paper. Everything must relate to the topic assigned. Requirements: Write your first and last name in the top left-hand corner of the page. (5 pts.) At the top of the page, write the unit title in bold and/or creative lettering. (5 pts.) On the outside border that surrounds the page, draw pictures and / or words that complement the unit of study. Fill all three sides of the border with pictures and / or words. You must have AT LEAST 5 different pictures/words in the frame and the frame must be filled.. You are allowed to repeat the picture or word, but there must be at least 5 different pictures or words included in the frame. (20 pts.) Inside the frame, divide the area into 4 squares. In the top left square, draw a picture that relates to the unit. In the top right, explain WHAT the picture is, HOW it relates to the unit, and the impact it had on history. In the bottom left box, create a flag for this unit. It should NOT be the US Flag. In the bottom right box, write a statement about the unit of study, starting with the phrase, “I believe that” or “I feel that…..” (15 pts / square = 60 total ) Be colorful and neat. Use all the space. NO MARKERS, only colored pencils. Nothing should be left in plain pencil and there should not be lots of white space left. (10pts.) Inside the frame, create an acrostic poem using a historical figure, event, or vocabulary term in the unit of study. The FIRST letter of the word or sentence MUST begin with the letter in the ACROSTIC word. The words used in the acrostic poem must describe the word CHOSEN for the acrostic poem. (40 pts.) Inside the frame, draw at least one picture that RELATES to your ACROSTIC poem. (10 pts.) Inside the frame at the bottom of the acrostic poem, write a sentence starting with “I believe” and provide evidence why in your written sentence. Your belief must be about a topic in the unit of study.(10 pts.) Be colorful and neat. Use all the space. NO MARKERS, only colored pencils.
