14 Penny For Your Thoughts!!!
60,000 thoughts per day 40 thoughts per minute 90% of our thoughts are habitual Majority of these thoughts are negative We habitually think negatively You just had 400 thoughts in the last 10 minutes Thoughts become words we say to ourselves TIME magazine tells us… What characteristics and attitudes are you looking for in the perfect new-hire?

15 TIME tells us… “…Positive chatter can help athletes stay focused, but if the conversation strays into fears of failing (or negative things), then the self-talk can become counterproductive.” Positive chatter can help the athlete stay focused, but if the conversation strays into fears of failing, then the self-talk can become counterproductive.” And nine-time world champion sprinter Michael Johnson shares in the same article that, “You can’t stop those negative thoughts from coming, especially when you see an arena or when you see your competitors walk by. The only way to stop those thoughts is to replace them with something else. If you’re going to replace them, you might as well replace them with something that is going to help you.” As you can imagine, when you’re thinking 60,000 thoughts each day – the majority of which are negative – the task of replacing those negative thoughts and the potential results of actually doing it can be huge. Now imagine the challenge and potential returns – as a leader – of achieving this in the workplace. This is our focus in this session. Let’s begin with our opening exercise on page 1.
