1 Transformation through social impact Jamie Reed
Head of Development and Community Relations

2 Why do we need to change? Road ahead End of reprocessing
25% scope reduction 2,000 surplus roles end of 24/7 operations Cost savings £1.4bn by 2020 extra £1.4bn by 2029 Acceleration LP&S retrievals 25% sooner MSSS the only remaining hazard by 2030 All ‘intolerable’ plants dealt with by 2040

3 Sellafield’s future state
By 2040, reprocessing and retrievals will be complete On current figures this removes approx. 60% of current scope (£1.2bn) Thousands of jobs that power our economy will not exist 2040 is closer than we think… a current first-year SL apprentice will be 39 a year 7 pupil will be 33 a baby born this year will be 22 What jobs will they be doing in 2040?

4 Our destiny in our hands
We must act now to build the future we want First, that means performing well to build confidence It also means using the full potential of Sellafield: Our people Our skills Our capability The site itself Our supply chain

5 The role of social impact
Priorities: community, skills, growth An enabler to the future, not a compensation package Uses current investment to create conditions for long-term success Drives accountability into the supply chain Objectives agreed with community Progress regularly reported on Sustainable, long-term outcomes prioritised

6 How do we move forward? Create partnerships Engage and discuss
Include all voices Define shared vision Act now Hold each other to account
