2 What would you do? Would you help your dad correct the biggest mistake of his life? Would you help him set the record straight in his final days? Even if he thinks he did nothing wrong?

3 Plot and Major Conflict
Paul Tracy starts the story as an eleven year old boy. He is the son of a Big League pitcher for the New York Mets, Warren Tracy. Joe Castle is a 21 year old baseball phenom that has taken baseball by storm in the summer After an incident between Paul’s father and Joe Castle no one’s life will ever be the same. Years later as Warren is dying Paul tries to help him set things right before it is too late.

4 Setting The story begins in New York where Paul and Warren live while Warren pitches for the Mets. The story continues in Calico Rock Arkansas where Joe Castle lives and finishes in Florida where Warren has retired.

5 Main Character Paul Tracy is the main character and narrator of the story. Paul goes from 11 years old at the beginning of the story to 51 years old in end. Paul and his father have had a very bad relationship and Warren is not a great father. When Paul finds out Warren has cancer and may die in the next three months he want to help Warren make things right with Joe Castle.

6 Conflicts Warren hates the success Joe Castle is having in 1973.
Warren’s baseball career is not going well. Warren is a really bad father to Paul. After Paul has grown up he and Warren seldom speak or see each other. Paul wants Warren to set “the record straight” now that he is sick.

7 Genre and who would be interested in this book
It is a fictional book. Sports fans will enjoy this book.

8 I enjoyed this book because…
The book manipulated my emotions from anger, sadness, and happiness. It taught me a lesson “its never too late to set the record straight.” This book really had me hooked and waiting to see what happened next.
