The EU referendum: the results are in.
The results announced this morning show that 51.9% of voters in the UK voted to leave the EU. Over 30 million people voted. At Scalby School, the results told a rather different story. 61% of you voted to remain in the EU. 71% of students in the school voted. The story locally was rather different to our result. In Scarborough, 62% voted to leave the EU. 73% of local people voted. Here’s how the rest of the UK voted. Blue is majority leave; yellow is majority remain. Our school result was almost directly opposite to our town’s result. Why do you think this was? If the voting age was lowered to 16, how might the results have been different?
