3 Below are illustrations of what the boys and girls wore in New France

4 FUN FACTS Average people only owned a few articles of clothing.
Women wore separate tops and skirts. Women generally wore the same basic garments. Women made household linens, undergarments, children clothes and they embellished clothing. All classes of women had to master sewing and needle arts. Women wanted to be the most fashionable on Sundays. New clothes were expensive.

5 What The People of New France Wore

11 MONEY The main reason wealthy people dressed differently from average ranking people is because they can afford to buy new clothes, so why would they only own a few cheap articles of clothing? Would you? They wear more expensive fabrics like silk because it can show others their wealth and it is better quality. Of course they want to look good and buy clothes that would last longer and look better for some more money than average articles of clothing.

12 Poor Person’s Clothing Wealthy Person’s Clothing
As you can see the dresses look very old and worn out. She has probably owned this dress for a while because she doesn’t wan to waste money on new clothes that are nicer. As you can see, the dresses look overall nicer than usual dresses, and the materials look like they are higher quality.
