Background – why did we choose it
We have chosen this topic because
- main topic is being inclusion and we believe that group works are a good work method.
We haven't chosen a specific subject because we believe our activities can be adjusted to several subjects as language and social studies.

Dr. Spencer Kagan proposed in the 80s the model on cooperative learning. He said that through cooperative learning a child would increase self-esteem, social skills, and study skills. These three skills are one of the main goals in the school that a child possesses after finishing school. The most important factor that Kagan emphasized for our lesson is that through group work children learn to work with and understand others who are different from themselves.

6. 4 corner Everyone has to show their own opinion
No corner is the wrong corner – acceptance towards others opinion
It’s being visualized everyone have different opinions
We did choose the four corner exercise because we wanted the pupils to take a stand and reflect over their own opinion. They need to reflect over their own role in a group and how they react in different situations, they need to build up awareness of themselves in a group in order to start reflect how other persons are thinking and what they can contribute with.
We make them starting reflect in what is important in a group work
Since it isn’t any corner who has a wrong answer and no one is allowed to argue towards another opinion the pupils learn to respect others.
We think the pupils would have a spread to were they will stand and that contributes to visualizing that everyone have different opinions. Also, when the leader is asking why someone is standing in one corner the others have to respect and listen to the persons arguments.
The four corner activity is a great activity to do before the trading game, because they are supposed to work together as a group, and hopefully they have opened their mind to respect everyone’s opinion within this exercise.
