Majority of MVIs during the year 2018 happened on straight section of the road (46% of all MVIs) indicating that road layout is not a prevailing contributory factor but more likely drivers` attention (alertness) or distractions can be linked with driving on a long sections of straight roads. Again a considerable number of MVIs (42% of all recorded MVIs) happened on other traffic surfaces such as parking lot, sites and yards and particularly affected directorate with such incidents is OND.

Heavy vehicles (HGV, articulated vehicles, tankers and heavy busses) are associated with 51% of all MVIs during the year 2018 which is indicating that professional drivers are not complying with road safety procedures. The data available is insufficient to anticipate any future trends.
