3 1"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser
1"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

4 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

5  6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

6 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

7 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.  11 These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

9 FOUR D’s of Abiding: The Dynamic The Dissonance The Distractions The Dependence of Abiding

10 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

11

12 Principle: GOD DOESN’T BRINGS TO MIND SCRIPTURE THAT WE’VE NEVER READ.

13 Having our minds and hearts renewed by the Word is the key DYNAMIC of Abiding.

14

15 BARNA SURVEY Half of Americans Are “Bible Users”. People Think that Reading the Bible Positively Impacts Spiritual Growth.

16 THE MORE YOU KNOW THE WORD, THE MORE YOU ARE AWARE OF YOUR NEED FOR Jesus.
(Dependence)

17 Six in 10 Americans Believe the Bible Has Transformed Their Life
THE POWER OF FOUR

18

19 This is the DISSONANCE of Abiding.
ABIDING means Hearing and DOING the Word of God even, or ESPECIALLY, when it goes against what we want to hear. This is the DISSONANCE of Abiding.

20

21 There are DISTRACTIONS to Abiding.

22 “You can’t overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.”
John Maxwell

23

24 Warren Buffett, “You only have to do a few things right in your life, so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.”

25

26 We will easily give our time, thoughts, and money to the things we love.

27

28 THE DEPENDENCE OF ABIDING

29

30 In everything the life of the branch is to be the exact counterpart of that of the Vine.
Andrew Murray

31

32 The Lord God omnipotent reigns.
I come to thee as a sinner with cares and sorrows, to leave every concern entirely to thee, every sin calling for Christ’s precious blood;

33 Revive deep spirituality in my heart;
Let me live near to the great Shepherd, hear his voice, know its tones, follow its calls.

34 Keep me from deception by causing me to abide
in the truth, from harm by helping me to walk in the power of the Spirit.
