3 Introduction_____________________________
Emerging wireless ad hoc networks find their most important applications in mobile, multihop scenarios where there is no wired infrastructure. MANET : A group of mobile devices communicating using their wireless radio in absence of any network infrastructure. TCP is widely used over internet and is highly optimized for performance on wired networks. Use of TCP/IP in MANET is a certainty because it provides seamless integration with fixed infrastructure.

4 Study of performance of regular TCP in MANETs
Project Definition________________________________ Study of performance of regular TCP in MANETs (using simulator) The performance of TCP in terms of following parameters was studied: Variation of Throughput in wireless (Static MANET) and wired Network Variation of Throughput with respect to mobility and its reaction to different Routing protocol. Variation of Throughput and fairness with different flow channel. Variation of Good put with respect to different TCP variant. Variation of Throughput with respect to multiple hop count. Variation of Throughput with respect to TCP window Size.

5 Expremental Setup_______________________________
We have made all over experiments in following scenario design The scenario size = 3000 X 1500 m The TCP variant = TCP Tahoe (Default) Routing protocol = DSR Noise factor = 0 Path loss = Free Space Hop count and # of Nodes varying according to experiment requirement. Distance between two nodes 300 to 350 m.

12 Conclusion_____________________________________
Due to high mobility, the predictability of TCP is not ensured in wireless. TCP would react in the same manner as though it is a congestion related problem for packet loss. In Multi-Hop topology , throughput is drastically reduced and keeps on reducing as the hop count increases. Regular Variants of TCP are not able to solve the issue of throughput in MANET TCP cannot guarantee a fair allocation of channel in case of multiple flows.
