Federal FY07 Budget Status Still waiting for FY07 approval Charter Signing As of 28 Feb all members have now signed Corps’ Project Management Plan Draft is complete and in review at Corps Expect to finalize by 1 May (before MC Mtg) Speaker: Al Summarize goals from Framework Management strategies will be based on successful San Francisco Bay LTMS and Los Angeles Corps District Sediment Management Plan

4 LTMS Project Work Plan Draft document provided to SRG for review last week With the exception of the Water Board, no comments have been received thus far Would like all comments by 31 March Work Plan will be revised and presented to Management Committee for approval Management Committee meeting scheduled for 16 May Speaker: Al Objectives from Framework

7 Water Board Comments Efficiency: Where did the perception come from that there are inefficiencies in the permitting process? DMMO Timing and Need: Water Board not convinced that the need exists for a formal structure Constituents: Balancing the need for dredging with the Board’s mission to protect water quality. 8 Water Board’s LTMS Goals
Work towards expediting dredging in the Delta while: Decreasing the risks of dredging projects on water quality; and Decreasing the uncertainties of the risks of dredging projects. Water Board’s recommended goal for LTMS – focus most of the effort on reducing the uncertainty in predicting/estimating water quality impacts Speaker: Al Objectives from Framework
