TASK INTRODUCTION & LEARNING DEVELOPMENT What situation was Germany in in 1918? TASKS: You have been given a list of cards. They all give effects on the 1st World War on Germany. You have to take it in turns to put them in a category either: Political Economic Social/Psychological ASSESSMENT CRITERIA by the end of this activity those working at a: D: will be able to categorise some of the effects of World War 1 correctly and describe some of the effects. C: will also be able to justify opinion with evidence to explain the effects of World War 1 B-A: will also be able to explain why some effects may have more impact than others

Nominate a spokesperson to feedback to the class. You only have 1 minute to make your decision

7 So...what impact did it have?

8 The First World War has a big impact on Germany because it led to an unstable situation. For example, politically, Germany was troubled as the working class people had little say in how the country was run and it was led through a military dictatorship by the Kaiser and his army leaders Ludendorff and Hindenburg. This would anger the people of Germany and mean that when the Kaiser abdicated they would see this as an opportunity to have their say leading to potential conflict and division within Germany.
