4. Art. 17 updates – approach to reporting
2018 Reporting Guidance developed by WG DIKE:
Updates from 2012 reporting (Art 9, 10)
Progress towards GES (Art 8), based on specifications of 2017 GES Decision, and on environmental targets (Art 10)
Promotes re-use of recent assessments (DIKE_ ):
Water Framework Directive 2016 assessments for coastal and territorial waters (D5 eutrophication, D8 contaminants)
Common Fisheries Policy 2017 stock assessments (D3 commercial fish and shellfish)
Regional Sea Convention 2017 state of marine environment assessments (all Descriptors)

5. Art. 17 updates – reporting tools
Improved tools and support for MS:
XML schemas (simplified compared with 2012)
Web forms for all schemas (not available in 2012)
Prefilled XML files (Art 8, 9, 10, indicators)
Common set of Marine Reporting Units by EEA, supplemented by additional MS-defined MRUs
Reporting tools under test February-March
Finalise reporting guidance, schemas, tools and prefilled XML to enable MS reporting from July 2018

6. Art. 18 – progress with PoMs
Brief reporting, XML only via web form, start from Oct. 2018
Assess:
Progress in implementation of POMs after 3 years
Focused on progress with 'new' measures (category 2)
POMESA (23/03) to agree on reporting of existing measures not fully implemented (category 1b)
Reasons for any delays, obstacles or withdrawal
