14 14 These options are available with permission of SASA counselor, administrator, and completion of Board of Education Requirements. Career & Technical Courses at the Saginaw Career Complex (Gr 11-12) Advanced Placement English Language & Composition or Advanced Placement English Literature & Composition are options available in junior and/or senior year per ELA teacher recommendation. A wide range of MI Virtual High School courses; usually Grades (priority given to seniors). Dual Enrollment courses through attendance at local colleges & universities for Grades 11-12 Independent Study Courses (Teacher approval required and offerings vary by schedule & grade)

17 SASA Achievements AP Classes, On-Line Courses, Dual Enrollment; majority of all AP tests taken were passed at level 3 or higher out of possible 5, which results in for college credit for certain courses, when the student matriculates at a participating college/university. Saginaw County Art Awards and Scholastic Literary Magazine (ICONS) Awards Award Winning Teaching Staff: Barnes & Noble “My Favorite Teacher”; Saginaw News “Crystal Apple Award”; MCET “English Teacher of the Year”; American Chemical Society’s “Chemistry Teacher of the year”, Scholastic Art & Writing Award Gold Key Teaching Awards, etc. Three National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists in 2018 6 AP Scholars, 3 AP Scholars with Honor, 4 AP Scholars with Distinction and 1 National AP Scholars in 2018 SVSU Foreign Language Day Awards: 1st Pace (Display, Poster, Song, Skit/Musical); 2nd place (Skit/Musical, International Awareness SASA students earned 1st & 2nd top honors in the science quiz bowl and science fair sponsored by the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE).
