4 Task 6: Getting more familiar with the text
Students master information by discovering it for themselves. Teachers do not actually teach, simply help students learn. Learning takes place through a process of challenging old ideas and asking questions. What examples did the guest speaker give about what is good manners in the west is not in China and vice versa? (Chinese students unwilling to address the Western teachers on the first name basis; saying “what” when failing to understand the speakers also causes misunderstanding. )
