Cortisol= increased size of amygdala (which pairs emotional events with feelings) Raised cortisol increases negative emotions, fear, anxiety and aggression. Increased stress levels also reduce the size of the hippocampus which decreases our capacity for learning, our memory and our ability to regulate emotions
