2 Introduction BSO founded in 1917- self awarded Diploma in Osteopathy
Early 1990’s validated by the OUVS as a private college Applied for Institutional Designation in 2003 Relationship started with University of Luton in 2004 Accredited College Status TDAP Application in August 2013 Institutional Designation Application in July 2014

3 TDAP Application Timeline
April 2011: Initial discussion with the QAA. 20th Jun 2012: Presentation to the Board by Prof. David Baker (TDAP consultant) regarding the TDAP application process. Oct & Nov 2012: Student & Staff kept informed and consulted through Principal’s Briefings & SSLCG meetings. 14th Nov 2013: Preliminary meeting with the School’s assigned QAA Officer, Alan Weale. 19th Oct 2011: Further discussion of the proposal to apply for TDAP by the Board. 25th Sep 2012: Board agreed to initiate the TDAP application process. Aug 2013: CSA and accompanying TDAP documentation submitted to the QAA. 27th & 28th Jan 2014: Initial visit of the Scrutiny Team 2011 2012 2013 7th Mar 2012: Presentation to the Board by the Principal regarding the process for applying for TDAP. Oct 2012: TDAP Steering Group established to project manage the School’s TDAP application process. 9th Sept 2013: TDAP submission considered by ACDAP. 14th Jun 2011 Initial discussion with the Board. 17th Sep 2012: Academic Council recommended that the School should seek to apply for TDAP. Feb 2013: Questionnaire circulated to staff and students to gather views regarding the School applying for TDAP. 13th Sept 2013: Confirmation received from the QAA that the School’s TDAP application will proceed to a detailed scrutiny of the application.

4 TDAP Outcome Visit ended in July 2014 Draft report to BSO in Sept 2014
ACDAP reported to full QAA Board in Nov 2014 DAP Awarded in October 2015 Institutional Designation awarded in October 2015

5 What made it a success? Consultant
Comprehensive initial Mapping of DAP Criteria – gap analysis Early engagement with Board of Directors, Staff and Students Steering group with clear lines of responsibility Use of externals to review CSA Being realistic about resources required to replace those of the University Good School documentation Clear Academic Quality Framework Transparency Being ourselves!
