Week of April 24th A Note from the Teacher What’s Happening in... Reading – This week we read fiction and non-fiction books about farm animals. We learned facts about the different kinds of animals that live on the farm. We continued to discuss story elements and worked on our reading comprehension. Sight Words – been, called, people Math – This week we prepared for our Map Math Assessment by reviewing how to solve addition/subtraction equations, working on measurement, counting to 100 by ones, fives and tens and grouping objects. Please sign and return field trip permission slips AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The Cincinnati Zoo field trip cost $12 per student and $6.00 per chaperone. The Firehouse field trip is free. Don’t forget to volunteer to be a chaperone for the zoo field trip that is coming up on May 12th! We need more parent chaperones! As of this week there will be no more homework packets. Students will still be required to read. If students are on AR, they will also need to take quizzes. Any unfinished work will still need to be completed and returned. If your child has started AR please continue having them read their baggy books. They also need to bring their books back to school with them everyday. Students may also read books from home, check out the to see if it has a corresponding quiz. If it does, send it in!
