2 Introduction In this power point we will be informing you about : the water cycle, human and physical geography of water.

3 Water Cycle The water your drinking from right now could have fallen as rain last week or even of fallen on the dinosaurs! Our earth has a limited amount of water and this constant cycle keeps going round and round so we never run out of water.

4 Evaporation Experiment
Evaporation is when the sun heats up any body of water turns it into water vapour or steam. The water vapour leaves the water and moves into the air. Experiment Pour a glass of cold water on a hot day and watch what happens. Water forms on the outside of the glass.

5 Condensation The water vapour in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid – this makes clouds. This is called Condensation.

6 Precipitation Precipitation happens when so much water has condensed that the air can’t hold it anymore and it falls down as rain, snow, sleet or hail depending on the temperature.

7 Rivers Famous rivers We personally think the Nile is longer
Some famous river include: The Nile / The Amazon River (there is a debate whether which one is longest) , The Thames (London’s famous river) and the Mississippi River. We personally think the Nile is longer Most rivers are made by underground streams after rain. As water flows downhill, the trickle makes a stream then it turns into a wider stream then makes a river.

8 Why is water important to us?
As humans we need water to survive and if we didn’t we could only live for around 3 days! Your body uses water for your cells, organs and tissues to maintain your body temperature and sustain other bodily functions. Your body loses a lot of water through sweat and breathing therefore, it is important to drink a lot of water, also eating foods that contain water. Charities Both these charities provide water to children and their family’s in poorer countries that have no access to any water so they have to make very long journey just for dirty water.
