PowerBatt has performed the testing of 5 forklift traction batteries for STILL Slovakia
The following batteries have been tested:
2x, 48V, 625Ah, 24 cells, 5y.o.
2x, 48V, 600Ah, 24 cells, 3y.o.
1x, 48V, 540Ah, 24 cells, 1y.o.
Results of testing can be summarized as follows:
100% of batteries showed stabilization of voltage levels
100% of batteries showed stabilization of acid density levels
20% to 42% Improvement of performance during capacity testing

Battery maintenance processes
Battery condition
Currently there is a battery maintenance team of 3 technicians performing battery servicing as their primary task. The quality of care and servicing is very high in general
Basic maintenance tasks such as control and adjustment of acid levels is performed regularly on ongoing and systemic basis
In general, the batteries appear to be in above standard condition. No batteries showed low acid levels
It is advised to establish a more rigid data collection system covering information on maintenance and preventive servicing of all batteries in portfolio
Existing opportunities in battery operations
Purchasing of new batteries is the responsibility of Technical procurement department, which is an industry standard 4
Traction batteries at STILL Slovakia are exposed to above average work load due to three shift working schedule, therefore extra attention needs to be paid to servicing and maintenance schedules
It is advised to provide each battery with a service book, which shall hold all information on all performed maintenance activity
