WELCOME TO PRE-MED/ SKILLS USA FIRST INFORMATIONAL MEETING!

President: Jennifer Tabares Vice President: Sofia Lopez Secretary: Jose Diehs Treasurer: Rogelio Baucells Publicist: Veronica Garcia Events Coordinator: Alyssa Suarez & Brandi Mercado CLUB SPONSORS: Miss Kilpatrick Harell (Bio Medical Academy Lead Teacher) & Mr. Alvarez (EKG, EMR, 911 Teacher)

3 What is Pre-med Club? Our Mission Statement: to provide students with specific exposure to industry experts, networking opportunities, tours of various facilities, exposure to various daily procedures, techniques, treatments, and processes, opportunities to shadow professionals, community service opportunities, provide detailed educational guides and resources available, address any questions concerning college preparation, and attend field trips to be exposed to industry professionals. 

4 -Community service hours will also be offered
Meaning… -We seek to expose students to the medical field and responsibilities it entails -We do this by attending monthly field trips and bringing guest speakers. Field Trips include: colleges, medical schools, hospitals, community clinics, etc. -In order to attend field trips you must be an active member and attain a certain amount of points (this will be further discussed during our first official member meeting) -Community service hours will also be offered

5 Requirements to become a member
-Must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED 3.0 GPA and proof must be attached to application -If you are a freshman, you must have taken high school classes and obtained a GPA - Must be apart of the Bio-medical Academy

6 How to apply… Visit our website: www.fergpremed.weebly.com
Go to the "HOME” tab and select Club application form Download, fill out, and turn in application Download, fill out, and turn in media release form Attach proof of GPA Pay $25 membership fee through OSP or pay in cash to room 111 on October 11 and 12 during both lunches. ONLY ONCE YOU ARE ACCEPTED

7 What is included with the fee…
- - Pinning ceremony at the end of the year for whole club Skills USA Honor Society membership Occasional luncheons Insight of the medical profession Club shirts are sold separately for $8.00

8 When will apps be accepted?
-If you have everything ready, please stay after we’re done -Next week applications will be accepted during both lunches in Room 111, and Wednesday October 10—this will be the very last day to turn in your application -Remember to attach proof of GPA. If you don't have a 3.0 GPA and are not a part of the Bio-Medical Academy you are not eligible to join!

9 When do we meet… - One Thursday every month unless stated otherwise (meaning we could meet two weeks in a row if there's an event going on)
