What is the Dark Web? According to the Global Commission on Internet Governance: Dark Web: “Part of the Deep Web that has been intentionally hidden and is inaccessible through standard web browsers” 500x bigger than the surface web, 7500 terabytes of information compared to 19 terabytes. Only 0.03% of information available through traditional browsers.

Contract Killers: It is possible to order hitmen anonymously from websites on the dark web Credit Card Information: People are able to buy credit card information from dark web websites Betting: Certain websites offer the opportunity to bet on fixed sporting events

Public Perception More than 70% of global citizens want to shut down the dark web, yet only around 20% hold this belief strongly, according to Vocativ. This suggests that, on the whole, we know truly little about the dark web, or are apathetic towards the subject. We all have an inherent right to privacy, protecting it is not a sign of guilt.
