5 What do you see? Once you have seen the face (lower left of image), can you go back to not being aware of it? Personality typing provides a way of recognising, understanding and talking about differences Once you have increased your knowledge about personality theory, and your awareness about the personality types of your self and colleagues (and family members), you have more choice about how you respond to those around you. With this new skill, you can be more effective There is no going back...

6 Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
Developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers Based on the typological theory proposed by Carl Jung The most popular personality typing system (probably)

7 Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
IMPORTANT! All types are equal A successful world or team needs a mix of all types Indicates preference only (thinkers do feel and visa versa) The tests are sometimes wrong MBTI does not indicate: Inteligence Effectiveness Ability Confidence Good vs Evil Stress Maturity

8 Exercise 1: Preferences
Write your name with your preferred hand Then write your name with your other hand How did it feel different? MBTI is about preferred ways of interacting with the world Extraverts can be quiet and visa versa But, people will tend to use their preference, unless they make an effort not too When under stress or not thinking people will revert to their preference

15 Exercise 4: Ts to the left Fs to the right
