1st – The motion of a player (speed and direction) will only change if a force (body check) is applied. The hockey puck would move forever in a straight line (on a frictionless surface) until a force stopped it. 2nd – A big player’s hit will cause a small player to accelerate. Using F = ma you can calculate the final velocity of 2 players after a collision. 3rd – Any force one player puts on another gets put back on them. This means that the big guy gets just as much force applied to him as he applies to the small guy (but the small guy accelerates more due to his smaller mass).
