6 Most students get their first proper job when they leave university, usually at the age of 22

7 If a student takes a GAP YEAR it is common for them to work for half the year and travel for the other half.

8 The most common job is in a shop, but also, waitresses and nannies. Minimum wage A student will typically save £4,000 for travelling.
