4 Sight Loss – A Specific Risk
Every day 3 people in Wales lose their sight…1 in 9 over 60 year olds live with sight loss and 1 in 3 if you have dementia Visual impairment increases the risk of falls by 170% and the incidence of a hip fracture is 130% higher Early intervention and eye health checks and proper prescription spectacles make sight loss preventable (up to 50% reduction) Early cataract removal reduces falls by 34% Contact us if you need our help on

We ensure older people have confidence in our service and are able to access and communicate with us, to get the right service irrespective of the difficulties sensory loss issues present At a home visit we provide a Healthy Home check that supports an individual approach and tailors adaptations and modifications with the end user in mind, in order to address sight loss challenges to independent living Contact us if you need our help on

6 Helping with Cost Savings & Income
Care & Repair has some funded solutions for home adaptations and has the technical expertise to tailor to individual need Our Caseworkers can help with Welfare Benefits and maximising income to support healthy living choices (often more difficult to access for those with sight loss) We also have expertise in supporting older people with sight loss to access benevolent funding to help with home improvements Contact us if you need our help on

7 Poor Housing is a General Risk
