1 Particle Insight Getting Started – Start-up & New Run….
1 – Turn unit on. 2 – Ensure drain jar is empty and the fill jar is full. 3 – Start Software by double clicking desktop icon. 4 – Rinse system. 5 – Turn on pump and Start “New” run. 6 – Enter name of new sample & click OK. 7 – Press Clear and Start buttons to start run. * Open data windows if desired by pressing the “Sample Data” button.

2 Particle Insight Getting Started – View Thumbnail Images….
1 – At end of run, press “Post-run Processing” button or open desired run and press “Post-run Processing” button. 2 – Enter filtering criteria if desired. If non desired, un-select any criteria. Ensure “View Thumbnail” is selected and that number of particles to analyze are the same or greater than particles available. 4 – Click OK. 5 – Navigate Thumbnails with arrows. Note – Blue numbers under each thumbnail represents the value indicated in the Test Images drop-down menu. To change the thumbnail blue text values, change the measure parameter, click the post-run-processing button and then select OK.

3 Particle Insight Getting Started – Overlaying Data Runs….
1 – Select Multi-Run Summary Option from the drop-down menus. 2 – Select multiple files to open (press Ctrl+click to select) and press OK. 3 – Select parameters to view. 4 – Select “Histogram” button to see shape overlays. Histogram plots are available for all selected measures. Histogram plots can be printed by selecting the Print function in the above shown histogram plot.

4 Particle Insight Getting Started – Viewing Histogram Data….
1 – Open run. 2 – Click the “Sample Data” button to open all the available shape histograms. 3 – View large data windows by selecting Plot Options / Large Display in the small data window menu. 4 – While viewing large data windows, several features are available including statistics for the entire histogram or any selected portion. Note there is a difference between Number, Volume and Surface Area weighted distributions.

5 Particle Insight Getting Started – End of Day Shut-Down….
1 – Rinse system to ensure no residue is left in the system. 2 – Turn pump off by clicking the Pump button on the user interface and then exit the Particle Insight Software. 3 – If leaving the system unattended for long periods of time (days or weeks), it is recommended that the instrument be turned off.
