Grade Point Average Your grade point average is calculated and updated when you complete a class (Semester/End of Year). GPA is impacted by AP and Dual Enrollment classes. Weighted GPA determines Honor Graduates, Val/Sal; grades in AP and Dual Enrollment classes raise the value of a grade. Regular classes: 0-4 GPA scale (A=4.0), AP/DE classes: 0-5 scale (A=5.0) HOPE GPA is based on ALL of the ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language classes that you complete. Preliminary HOPE eligibility is determined at the end of the first semester of your Senior year. Final HOPE eligibility is determined at the end of your Senior year.

When should I be taking SAT or ACT?
Generally speaking, Juniors are encouraged to wait until Spring of their Junior year The math that you will need to understand for the math portion of the test is taught August-February You certainly can take the test any time that you want, but I would rather you take the test when you are prepared with all the tools that you will need to do well on the test
7
Which test? SAT is, generally, a better measure for students whose strengths are Math and Science ACT is, generally, a better measure for students whose strengths are ELA and Social Science If you are unsure of which is best you could take both and see which is a better fit. Fees: SAT $47.50 ACT $46.00 Fee waivers are available for students who meet certain requirements, you are allowed 2 fee waivers (If you qualify, they apply to both tests)
