5 The Role of The Billing Coordinator
There is an EmCare Site/Billing Coordinator responsible for the chart capture and accountability process at each site. If possible, they review the medical record to ensure all components are present & the documentation is complete prior to sending charts to our billing company, RTI. They notify providers when additional documentation is required. They follow up on all outstanding charts. They identify charts that are non billable. IPS Site Coordinators also provide administrative support for the Medical Director and practice.

6 Delivery of Charts There are various methods used to deliver charts to RTI , depending on the documentation tool and nuances at each site. Paper Process (via FEDEX) Scanning Process (via EmScan) or Imported Image Hybrid Process (via Scanning/Paper & Electronic Interface) Fully Automated Electronic Process

7 Main Reasons Why Charts Are Not Billed Timely
Missing or Incomplete Documentation Chart Not Signed by Provider APP Chart Not Cosigned by MD Missing Scribe Attestation Missing Resident/Student Attestation
