Is named based on two criteria:
1. Cell shape
2. Cell layers
Functions in: protection, absorption,
filtration, excretion/secretion and as a sensory receptor

2. Stratified: two or more cell layers
3. Pseudostratified: one cell layer but looks as if it has several layer .
