1 Title Slide. You should introduce the person you're writing your biography about. You must type his/her name in the text box at the top of the screen, and add a picture of the person. You will want to keep the title slide simple. At the bottom, write your name, ESL - Period 6 and the date in the center.

2 Introduction Slide This should be a general overview of the person's life: date of birth - place of birth - interesting facts on his/her early life - educational background - death (if applicable)

3 Timeline Slide 1901 1904 1917 1929 1939 Your timeline must include FIVE significant accomplishments, awards, and/or special recognition.

4 Slides that Highlight Specific Accomplishments Create THREE slides drawing from your timeline where you explain the person's major accomplishments, awards, and special recognition.

5 Character Traits What TWO qualities or traits does the person possess?
Provide EVIDENCE from his life

6 Conclusion Slide This slide will sum up the person's impact on the world and the people around him or leave the audience with a quote from the person that symbolizes their overall persona.

7 Life Lesson Your last slide must be a “Life Lesson” you could learn from your person. Is there a “quality” this person possesses you could learn from? Is there a specific experience in this person’s life you could learn from?

8 Create a references slide
Create a references slide. This slide includes all the resources you quoted or used for the project. This adds credibility to the things you said during the presentation. See resources below for guidelines in a few of the major citation formats. Make the final slide your works cited page. Cite 5 sources you used; one of the 5 is your book.

9 Guidelines Presentation must be 4-8 minutes
You can use 6 notecards for your presentation You must have 20 or fewer words per notecard Questions to answer: Why did you select this person? Explain 5 life changing events in this person’s life. ?

10 PowerPoint You need at least 8 slides (not counting your title slide)
You must have 20 or fewer words per slide. The words on your slides should be key words. You want your audience to listen to you, not read your PowerPoint. Your slides should be used more as a visual. Pictures should be relevant to what you are talking about in your presentation.

11 Presentation Guidelines
Attention Getter – create an introduction in a creative way to gain attention of audience. (interesting fact, statistic, quote, question, etc) Speak in good volume, showing enthusiasm, and interest Make good eye contact with your audience. Do NOT read off your PowerPoint! Always face your audience.

12 Presentation You should practice. Be confident in yourself! Provide information you think will be interesting to your audience. You want to thoroughly teach your audience about your person. Lasting Impression – Leave your audience thinking about your topic. This could be an interesting fact, statistic, quote, question, etc. (this should happen after your “Life Lesson” slide)

13 Presentation Extra Credit: You can dress-up as the person you are presenting for extra credit. Be creative! Have fun with the presentation!
