We can help you find library resources for your study! You can book appointments with your librarian. We can show you how our eResources work and how you can access information such as books, eBooks, journals and eJournals You can also , phone or book an appointment via Skype with me, especially if you live off campus If you use our resources – it will help you get a better grade as you will be accessing primary and secondary information How your Librarian can help you make the most of Library Resources

Before you get started Familiarise yourself with your Module Read any Module Descriptors or related Support Materials in Blackboard carefully If you have any set assignments or tasks read the assessment criteria and make sure that you understand what you need to do in order to complete your assignment Make clear concise notes during your lectures and also when you are reading additional materials New to university life? Use our Assignment Survival Kit to help you plan your academic work Before you get started using Library Resources look at these points

8 Using the internet to find quality information
Web information can be… Added by anyone (anyone can buy web space and create web pages) About anything (and does not have to be checked or accurate) Added from anywhere in the world Left without update or removed with no notice. Hoaxes /fake information (i.e. usually humour or parody sites which may or may not include disclaimers) Biased & only provide information to support one side of an argument

Usernames & Passwords Your username is your student number which consists of 2 letters and 6 numbers. b123456f Your password is your date of birth in 6 digits ddmmyy This is also your account when using e-journals, e-books and databases
